Had a long layover at the airport and luckily spent it here at this bakery. It had a real small-town feel. James, the owner knew a lot of the customers. What I liked most was he recommended I wait an extra 20 minutes since more fresh items that were to arrive shortly instead of trying to sell the older items. The prices were extremely reasonable and the selection was excellent. I got a chocolate croissant and a cheese and bacon turnover. Everything was fresh just out of the oven. The croissant was flaky and soft with just the right amount of chocolate. The turnover had plenty of cheese and the bacon was a little salty but the soft flaky crust made up for it. James is very approachable and will answer any questions you have and even give you advice on other spots to hit in the small town.

Good food, pastries and service, loved the chocolate cake.

We visited Jane's cafe during an off time of day but still received excellent service, food, and drinks. The chai tea latte was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We tried to go back the next morning for breakfast, but had an early flight out of town.

Kitchen was closed, but host was top notch and good fun. Pay when we left... not when we ordered. Our query about an iced chocolate to drink took him by surprise, and iced coffee was a local interpretation, which differs from a kiwi one. The duck roll was delicious.

We went to get breakfast at about 8am and the guy is sitting outside chatting up what appears to be an air stewardess - he says we can have sausage roll as no breakfast until 9am! Done us a favour as there was a very nice cafe up the road the did what was advertised and actually served breakfast and it was lovely!
