Check in took ages Norwegian airlines loads of passengers and only 4 check in desks open. Staff were courteous and efficient though. Toilets in terminal were a disgrace no paper in three cubicles and another one blocked. Cleaner trued to unblock toilet but whole area filthy.
It had just about everything for an hour's wait, right next to the waiting lounge. It is well stocked, offering cooked food free from a varied menu and a wide range of drinks. There are several rooms and spaces with reasonable views. However, the downside was that it was packed out, making everything uncomfortable.
Best boarding experience I've ever had at an airport. Perfectly friendly and professional staff, a security system that is made easy and that works, a terminal design that allows close distances between the check-in, exit, and departure. I wish all airports were like that.
Far from London, but it's very easy to take a train or a bus to go to London or the opposite. Easy Bus is the cheaper comfortable way to do that, mainly if you buy tickets in advance.
I was dreading coming to Gatwick Airport, but it proved very simple! Everything is clearly sign-posted. The staff proved to be quite pleasant and reassuring. I still hate the fact that they charge the prices they do for shopping. I would suggest self control and avoid shopping once you have gone through security.
