Not a hugely regular visitor, maybe a couple of times a year, usually during busy holiday season, traveling with the family.On those occasions, has been remarkably hassle free, even very good.To be fair, I suppose Gatwick has decades of dealing with high volumes of low cost (charter) passengers, but it shows.-Dedicated family security channel (which is brilliant)-Plenty of places to sit-Clean and tidy-No set down charges (yet)Knocks spots off Stansted, I mean a different league.It's biggest issue is infrastructure and that single runway. It is more vulnerable than the less busy Stansted and Luton to delays. But there are definitely worse airports to be stuck at. Cough. Stansted. Cough.I'll start making an effort to choose Gatwick.
Its possible to arrive here from London centre via train or themeslink. Its better to arrive here hours before the flight as the moving between gates and terminals can take a while. To save in water bottles, look for the automatic machines.
Very basic terminal, shame that UK based easyjet is using that terminal. Lack of toilets located frequently, boarding could also be better organised to avoid pushy crowd to get into the queue. In general, several points to improve.
Nice clean airport terminal. The staff were helpful and polite and they help people less able greatly
Gatwick North terminal is where easyJet flights are based. Very good train connections to London and Brighton from Gatwick.
